How it works
The test presents 16 visual matrix items across four reasoning categories, with four questions per category. Difficulty increases gradually within each category, so the test captures a meaningful range of ability from a small number of items.

Why 16 questions
We chose 16 questions deliberately. Longer tests (50–100 questions) introduce fatigue as a variable — by question 40, many people stop performing at their cognitive ceiling and start performing at their patience ceiling. A shorter test that respects attention span can produce a result that better reflects actual reasoning ability, because it measures people while they're still fully engaged.
Sixteen is enough to sample across core reasoning categories without the repetition that makes longer tests feel like homework. Most people finish in 8–12 minutes.

What this test is — and isn't

Our test doesn't replace that process.
